This apparatus is used to calculate the thermal conductivity of metal rod (Copper).

Experimental setup consisting of:

• Test rod of copper of 12mm dia. and 200mm long.
• Ring type Heater
• Cooling chamber of dia125mm and 50mm long with arrangement for water circulation Shell filled with asbestos insulating powder Set of thermocouples - 6 Nos.

2.Thermal Conductivity of Insulation Powder Apparatus

This apparatus is used to calculate the thermal conductivity of Insulating Powder (Asbestos Powder).

Experimental setup consisting of:

• Mica insulated nichrome Ring type heater
• Inner copper sphere of radius 100mm
• Outer copper sphere of radius 200mm
• Set of thermocouple - 4 Nos.
• Asbestos Powder is filled in between the outer sphere and inner sphere.

3. Thermal Conductivity of Liquid Apparatus

This experiment is used to calculate the thermal conductivity of liquid (commercial glycerol).

6. Forced Convection From Horizontal Cylinder Apparatus

This apparatus is used to find out the surface heat transfer coefficient for a horizontal pipe flowing heat by forced convection to air flowing through it for different air flow rates and heat flow rate.

• Horizontal pipe of internal dia25mm and length 300mm
• Blower with orifice plate of dia. 15mm and manometer for flow measurement.
